Facing financial difficulties in the early 2000s, the company was declared ‘sick’ and its manufacturing assets were taken over and sold by secured creditors around 2008-09. Since that transition, Rajasthan Petro Synthetics shifted away from manufacturing toward support services such as office management, carrying and forwarding (C&F) agency operations and related logistics services. It has also promoted ventures like Poddar Pigments to manufacture specialty polypropylene masterbatches as an import substitute.
